The Night Markets

There are TONS of markets in Chiang Mai. There are walking markets, student markets, floating markets, food markets and even fish markets. Anything you can possibly think of is probably sold on the side of the street here. Some are local Thai oriented, but a few are geared towards tourists (farangs). Some of the popular ones are the Sat/Sunday night walking markets which sell tons of food and crafts. There is also the night bazaar which is pretty touristy (with higher prices!) They do have fun traditional Thai culture performances like Lanna dance and drum lines in he food court though. Most items are little souvenirs like handmade soaps, thai silk scarves, purses and elephant carvings.

^Gophers maybe???
