Doi Inthanon

Doi (meaning mountain in thai), is commonly used in Chiang Mai. Right next to CMU's campus is Doi Suthep, and it can be seen in the distance from just about anywhere in old city. Doi Inthanon is much bigger and is about an hour and a half away from Chiang Mai. It's actually the tallest mountain in Thailand. We decided to book a tour for this one since it's such a big mountain, and I'm really glad we did! We got to see a lot in one day.

We started off by visiting one of the waterfalls:

Then we went up to the summit of the mountain. It was pretty cold and foggy so we didn't have a great view, but it was really cool to be at the highest point in the country! The sign below marks the altitude of the summit. There are also two pagodas dedicated to a past king and queen of Thailand:
